Fundbox gets funded in $40M round

Fundbox, a startup that provides money to small and medium-size businesses in order to help them quickly pay invoices, has picked up some more money for itself — $40 million, to be specific. General Catalyst Partners led the new round, with Blumberg Capital, Khosla Ventures, Shlomo Kramer, and NyCa Investment Partners also participating, according to a statement today from the company. Silicon Valley Bank and others have provided the startup with a new credit facility.

Quid picks up a fresh $39M

Quid, a startup with software companies can use to analyze journalistic articles for the sake of developing and refining corporate strategy, said today that it’s taken on $39 million in new funding. Liberty Interactive Corp. led the new round in the San Francisco-based startup. Artis Ventures, Buchanan Investments, Subtraction Capital, Thomas H. Lee Limited Family Partnership II, Tiger Partners, Michael Patsalos-Fox, and Charles Lho also participated. To date Quid has raised $60 million; 60 employees currently work for the company, Quid cofounder Bob Goodson told VentureBeat in an email.

Cybersecurity startup Vidder grabs $12M

Vidder, a startup with software intended to keep companies from being attacked — including a system to ensure that stolen credentials won’t work for attackers — announced a new $12 million round of funding today. Presidio Ventures, ONSET Ventures, and Voyager Capital participated in the funding.
