Some serious investors are betting on robot-making startup Rethink Robotics in a new funding round.
GE Ventures led the $26.6 million round, in which Goldman Sachs also participated, as did Bezos Expeditions, CRV, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Highland Capital Partners, Sigma Partners, and Two Sigma Ventures, according to a statement the startup issued today.

The startup’s Baxter robot for manufacturing costs $25,000, according to its website. Baxter can perform tasks like packing, handling raw materials, and tending to equipment in manufacturing plants.
The Boston-based startup began in 2008. To date it has raised more than $100.1 million. Around 80 people work for the startup. Chief executive Scott Eckert expects the headcount to pass 100 within a year, he told VentureBeat in an email.
