Google adds touch-gesture navigation to Chrome

Google has included a number of touch-based gesture controls to the latest test build of its Chrome web browser.

The move was likely done because of the increasing number of people using mobile devices to access the internet, not to mention the growing number of Windows 8 devices that have touch screens. I’m betting the move will also help align Chrome with those mobile versions of browsers that already offer touch-based navigation features.

The new browser build allows you to swipe left to right to navigate between pages. There’s also some support for a new “pinch to zoom” control, which you’d use just like you would on a smartphone to zoom in on an image or a website.
