Google vice president for advertising Susan Wojcicki shared that Google’s first priority is to facilitate a “wonderful user experience,” while making its +1 button more widespread.
“Our goal with Google+ is to make sharing on the web like sharing in real life, as well as to improve the overall Google experience,” said chief executive Larry Page. “Not surprisingly this has been very well received, because in real life, we share different things with different people.”

For instance, Page describes hangouts, Google+’s video chat feature, as allowing for “serendipitous interactions,” which emulates running into a few friends on the street.
Google also took +1 buttons to search results and advertisements across the web. “Our +1 button is already all over the web,” Page said, “It’s being served 2.3 billion times a day.” Integrating this on top of ads will allow Google to gain further traction with advertisers by giving their ads a way to collect user votes, increasing engagement.
Page’s focus is on simple and intuitive products and noted that Google+ was the first to display Google’s visual redesign.
