Google today announced a slew of Google+ updates. The redesigned Google+ is now rolling out to all users, a few new features have been added to the social network, and it is becoming a core Google for Work service.
Google first showed off the new Google+ for the web, which puts a greater focus on Communities and Collections, in November 2015. Since then, the new Google+ has seen twice as many Collections followed per day and 1.6 million daily new Community joins.

As for the new features, you can now add links and photos to your comments, Community owners and moderators can turn on approved posting (to control who can post what), and there’s a new notifications center where you can see and manage your recent activity on Google+. These features are not unique to the new web version: They’ll will be rolling out across Android, iOS, and the web “in the coming weeks.”
Last but not least, Google Apps users already using Google+ will also start getting the new experience when they sign in, also with the option to revert back to the classic version. Here is Google’s pitch to businesses:
The new experience makes it easier to focus on the features our Apps customers tell us they find the most useful, including a new home page to quickly browse through content, Communities that make it easy to collaborate around ideas and Collections that enable organizations to follow and discuss topics of interest.
Google+ will become a core Google for Work service “in the next few weeks.” At that point, Google Apps customers will no longer have the ability to revert back to the classic Google+ interface.
Although Google is still clearly updating its Google+ service, the company began dropping its Google+ requirement across all its products in July 2015. That process is still ongoing — the next discontinuation is Google+ Hangouts On Air on September 12.
