Over 500,000 magazines have been created since Flipboard rolled out a new version of its app, which includes the ability for users to make their own digital publications.

The new features encourage users to create engaging and relevant magazines on a variety of topics. Some of the most popular and unique topics include education with 2,653 magazines, Game of Thrones Fanzines with 106, baseball with 35 Red Sox and 30 Yankee magazines, 274 coffee magazines, and a variety of travel guides.
Another upgrade includes making the entire Web “flippable.” The bookmark allows readers to add any content to their magazine on Flipboard, and when users access the application they will see their most recent “flipped” content.
The most flipped articles include 28 Beautiful Places You Won’t Believe Actually Exist and Dreamy Photography by Weerapon Chaipuck.
Three million users have joined the Flipboard community since 2.0 launched, bringing the total to 53 million users and six billion pages flipped each month. More than 50 percent of users are reading magazines everyday.
