At the same time, users can add color shadows to dark areas of their photos, as well as color highlights to bright areas.

Instagram said the new tools are available today on Android and will be coming to iOS in a few days.

The new features augment the five new filters Instagram introduced in December.

In addition, the Facebook-owned Instagram announced Post Notifications today, a new optional setting that lets users get alerts about activity from people they follow. The new feature is available for both iOS and Android today.
