Evernote
Now you can clip web pages, photos, and documents right into Evernote, according to a company blog post today. You can even start a fresh note from the Notification Center with iOS 8.
And the company is shipping a nifty feature for paying customers: Related Notes. “As you type or view a note, Evernote searches through your account to find other notes in your account that might be related to the work you’re doing,” Evernote VP of marketing Andrew Sinkov wrote in the blog post. “These notes appear below the note in the Related Notes section. It’s a great way to rediscover useful content that provides context for work projects or scheduled meetings.”
Google Maps
It’s unclear what exactly Google was able to work into Google Maps in its latest release, but the new version, 3.2.1, is “optimized for iOS 8,” according to a description on iTunes Preview. So try it out and let us know what you find.

The longstanding champion of in-depth articles has come out with a free app designed for iPhones and iPads running iOS 8. It lets users follow publishers and writers and receive notifications whenever writers get something new published. And the app showcases popular articles and staff favorites.

Now it’s possible to bring websites, photos, and file attachments into OneNote even when you’re using other apps.
