Apple and AT&T previously moved down the price of the 3GS on contract to free last year, and it still sold quite a few units. Many consumers want a smartphone but don’t want to pay a lot for it. So here is a way for people to get an iPhone and pay much less.
Now the iPhone 4 will take the spot as the lowest-tier Apple device you can buy new from a wireless carrier. The iPhone 4 was a major leap in design and display over the now-discontinued 3GS, so we’re sure average consumers will be happy with the news.
