Leaked HP video shows Google wants Android-powered laptops

According to a leaked promo video, HP is planning to launch an Android-powered laptop.

Although Android already runs on Acer and HP desktops, the mobile OS was designed for smartphones and tablets — not giant desktop machines. The desktop use-case has yet to take off, but a product video (surfaced by Notebook Italia and 9to5Google) shows that an Android touchscreen laptop could have potential.

The device appears to have received the go-ahead from Google, too, as the video [below] depicts Google Play store support.

If Android can find a home on laptops, it represents an incredible growth opportunity for the OS. But such integration also clashes with Google’s pitch for the Chromebook.
