Logitech is introducing a new gaming mouse today designed specifically for professional esports players. In doing so, it is targeting the cadre of professional game users who are among the most picky when it comes to having quality gaming hardware — and their fans, some of whom like to use the same gear as their favorite players.
The Newark, California-based Logitech said the Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse is optimized for tournament play by esports athletes, or the players with lightning reflexes who play for big prizes and cash awards. The mouse has Logitech’s most accurate optical gaming sensor, a metal spring button tensioning system, onboard memory for driver-free operation on tournament systems, and a comfortable, durable yet lightweight design.

Those products target fast speed, accuracy, and responsiveness.
“The benefit of working with esports players is that they tell us what they like, and more importantly, what they don’t like,” said Ujesh Desai, vice president and general manager of gaming at Logitech, in a statement. “Our new Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse takes what esports pros loved about the G100s and G303 and combines it into a mouse that we’re confident will meet their standards.”

“Competing at the top level requires a well-built mouse,” said Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham of Cloud 9 CS:GO, a esports player, in a statement. “After working closely with Logitech and extensive testing, the new Pro Gaming Mouse is my preferred mouse. With a comfortable shape and top-of-the-line sensor, I never have problems picking off my enemies.”
The optical gaming sensor, PMW3366, the has pixel-precise accuracy, which players believe makes a critical difference in high-stakes competitive gameplay. It has a DPI range of 200 to 12,000. The metal spring button tensioning system makes the left and right buttons easier to click. The top surface of the Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse is treated with a special coating to improve durability and grip, and the left and right buttons are tested to exceed 20 million clicks – the equivalent of a pro gamer training 10 hours every day for two years.
The mouse also has onboard memory for driver-free operation on tournament systems. That means you can swap it out or in without a lot of hassles. The mouse will be available this month in the U.S. for $70. In Europe, it will be 80 euros.
