Logitech wants to make livestreaming more accessible, so it is introducing the C922 Pro Stream Webcam today, along with software that makes it easy to create a high-speed, high-quality livestream broadcast for the Twitch generation.
The Swiss company introduced the webcam at an event at the TwitchCon conference for livestreamers in San Diego, Calif. The $100 device can broadcast gameplay in full high-definition 1080p or 720p at 60 frames per second. It also comes with Chromacam dynamic background replacement software, powered by Personify, and a three-month XSplit recording and streaming premium license.

That’s the way that professional broadcasters stream, and now you can do it for a much lower price, said Andrew Coonrad, technical marketing specialist at Logitech, in an interview with GamesBeat.
“A lot of streamers don’t have the budget to use a camera that has a lot of heavy requirements,” Coonrad said. “But they do have $100 to buy a sweet camera.”

Livestreaming has exploded in recent years, with 2 million streaming on Amazon’s Twitch platform alone. This camera competes with rivals that use the Intel RealSense depth camera, which requires some heavy-duty hardware.
Logitech’s previous camera, the C920, has been on the market for four years and has been very popular with streamers.
The company has improved upon the older camera to deliver a higher video quality experience. With automatic low-light correction and sharp autofocus, the C922 webcam adjusts to flickering room lights or multiple computer screens, so you can stream clear video even in dim lighting.
Two omnidirectional noise-canceling microphones enable a crisp stereo audio with no-drop streaming and recorded video. Logitech worked closely with the leading gaming broadcast software company, XSplit, to integrate its popular live streaming and recording applications with the C922 webcam by adding predefined settings and capabilities to enable the best user experience.
The Logitech C922 Pro Stream Webcam is available today at Logitech.com and BestBuy.com for $100. Logitech is also offering the C922x webcam without a tripod and a longer subscription for XSplit on Amazon.com.
