Office management service Managed by Q has announced that it’s expanding to its fourth city in the United States. Los Angeles now joins New York, Chicago, and San Francisco as areas where businesses can request its range of time-saving services for the workplace.

Founded in 2013, the company offers businesses a smart solution for their office needs, installing an iPad in the workplace that employees can use to reorder supplies, schedule equipment maintenance, or even arrange a visit from Managed by Q’s on-demand repair person.

The expansion to Los Angeles comes less than seven months after Managed by Q launched in San Francisco, which followed its Chicago launch by just two months — so more areas could be coming soon.

“Los Angeles is a growing hub for the intersection of thriving media, tech, and entertainment industries, and we’re positioned to fuel their growth through Managed by Q’s tech-enabled office management system,” said Mark Kinney, the company’s head of expansion.

Although it offers an on-demand service, the company has managed to avoid the pitfalls that have affected other companies in the space, mainly because it doesn’t hire workers as independent contractors. Instead, Managed by Q has opposed the 1099 economy, giving its employees Fortune 500-level benefits such as a 401(k) plan, opportunities for free continuing education, and career growth. Workers in Los Angeles have been promised a competitive hourly wage.

Managed by Q has raised $17.4 million in funding, to date, including $15 million in June from RRE Ventures, Greycroft Partners, Homebrew, Sherpa Ventures, SV Angel, and Steadfast Financial.
