Medium, the blogging platform started by Twitter cofounder Evan Williams, now says users can block others from reading their posts or following them.
This evening, Medium unveiled its blocking feature in a post by engineer Kelly Ellis that it presumably hopes everyone will see.
At Medium, we want our platform to be a safe place for everyone to share their stories and ideas. That includes having control of your experience on Medium. As someone who’s experienced online harassment, this is also an important personal issue for me.
We already offer you basic features to control how much email we send you, allow you to curate your experience by choosing which people and publications to follow, and give you the tools to report posts as spammy or abusive. Today, I’m pleased to announce that we’re rolling out support for blocking other accounts on Medium.
Blocking someone on Medium means that person won’t be able to follow you, see your profile, or your posts. At the same time, users who block someone will not be able to see their posts.
