Today fledging livestreaming startup Meerkat confirmed it’s raised “around $14 million” in funding from Greylock Partners and others. Company founder Ben Rubin confirmed the $14 million figure during a live Meerkat stream.
This news arrives hours after Twitter launched its own competing app, Periscope for iPhone. “There’s going to be room for multiple winners here,” the company said, addressing Periscope and other competing services.
