Microsoft loses longtime Windows and Office leader Antoine Leblond

Antoine Leblond, a longtime Windows and Office executive at Microsoft, is leaving the company, according to Re/Code.

Leblond worked at Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft for nearly 25 years. But he was moved aside in a reorganization last year. He is leaving the company on Monday.

“After almost 25 years, I’ve decided it’s time for me to go out and see what the non-Microsoft world has to offer,” Leblond said in an e-mail to employees.

“Every single day I have had here has been amazing in its own way, and I will never look back on all of these years with anything but fondness, pride in what we’ve accomplished together, and a real appreciation for having been lucky enough to be part of so many awesome things,” Leblond said. “I am sad to leave all of you, but also incredibly excited for what comes next.”

Leblond worked closely with ex-Windows chief Steven Sinofsky. Leblond focused on the cloud services and store for Windows 8. Microsoft has had a lot of executive shakeups in the past year, starting with the replacement of CEO Steve Ballmer with Satya Nadella. Somehow we think the changes aren’t over yet.
