Microsoft today announced the release of the Hyperlapse Pro time-lapse video application for Mac. It’s available now from the Microsoft Store for $49.99.

Hyperlapse is technology that initially came out of Microsoft Research last year as a way to stabilize first-person video in order to make great-looking time-lapse footage. It went from experiment to commercial app earlier this year, becoming available on Android and Windows Phone, as well as Windows.

Now the Hyperlapse Pro app is available for Mac.

But if you don’t mind the “Microsoft Hyperlapse Pro” watermark appearing in the bottom right corner of the videos, you can use the app for free. Download it here. It’s easy to upgrade from within the app — it’s marked as a “trial copy,” and you just click a link on top of the front page of the app to “activate” it and get the Pro version.
