Misfit and Speedo have teamed up on the launch of a Speedo-branded activity, swim, and sleep tracker called the Speedo Shine.
Misfit said the proprietary lap-counting algorithms embedded in the device’s firmware track a swimmer’s lap count accurately, and they work for all stroke types.
The Speedo Shine syncs with the Misfit iOS and Android apps and displays laps and swim distance, along with calories burned and points earned. The device will soon also work with Speedo’s personalized swim-tracking app, Speedo Fit.
Speedo Shine is made out of aircraft-grade aluminum and comes in a light silver color. It’s waterproof up to 50 meters. The wearable also tracks walking, running, cycling, and light and deep sleep.
The new wearable will initially be available in retail exclusively at Apple stores worldwide September 1, and at the Speedo and Misfit websites for $80.
