LAS VEGAS — Monster released a number of new wireless headphones and earphones today, a new waterproof Bluetooth speaker, and a new music app that optimizes the sound of music from different genres for Monster headphones.

Basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal showed up to hype the new Monster Bluetooth SuperStar Backfloat speaker that’s so waterproof you can take it into the bathtub with you. The $170 speaker is roughly 6 inches long and 3 inches tall and emits a very loud sound, Shaq says.

The speaker sports wireless stereo sound, connects to any music device using a 3.5mm aux line out, and is optimized for smartphones, tablets, notebooks and PCs, Monster says.

As expected, Monster rolled out a new line of iSport headphones tailored to the health and fitness crowd.

At the bottom of the line, the iSport Bluetooth headphones are low-cost, wireless in-ear headphones. The Bluetooth, wireless iSport Super Slim is another pair of wireless in-ear headphones that Monster says sports the least bulky and most streamlined designed of any wireless headphones on the market. The earphones hold on with an ear clip and will work within 50 feet of the music player. Monster also released a pair of wireless on-ear headphones called iSport Freedom.

The Pure Monster Sound app is a fully functioning music player that contains sonic profiles that are matched to different types of music. It is optimized to sound accurate to that type of music on Monster headphones.

Monster and Adidas teamed up on a new line of Adidas Performance by Monster headphones. The new models come in a variety of colors and range from $50 to $150.
