Netatmo wants to make sure the air in your home is fit for breathing. With that in mind, the New York company is announcing its Healthy Home Coach indoor climate monitor today for $100.
The Healthy Home Coach monitors the quality of your air and records that data, along with humidity, temperature, and noise. Then it offers advice on how to keep your climate comfortable, based on the data coming in.
“We spend up to 80 percent of our daily life indoors,” said Fred Potter, founder and CEO of Netatmo, in a statement. “Our indoor living spaces are three to eight times more polluted than outdoors, causing allergies, spreading sickness, decreasing productivity and impairing our health over time. But, it is hard to care about what you can’t see or control. Healthy Home Coach teaches users how to act for a healthier home.”

A poorly ventilated room leads to high indoor air pollution, making it hard to concentrate. Healthy Home Coach sends notifications to make sure the room is often ventilated.
As for humidity, dry air can cause itchy skin. Humid air can lead to the growth of mold. And humidity levels can play a huge role in managing asthma and allergies. So Healthy Home Coach helps to find the balance that works best for each room of your home.
Meanwhile, babies and toddlers are not able yet to balance their body temperature properly. A room that feels just right to adults might be too hot for young children. They might wake up from a nap all sweaty, even though their parents were sure the room temperature was comfortable. Healthy Home Coach can advise the precise temperature your children need to feel good.

With Healthy Home Coach, parents can also check the data history of the family sleeping times to understand how to reduce sound pollution.
Healthy Home Coach is available now and retails for $100 on www.netatmo.com. The Healthy Home Coach will be available with Amazon at launch and on Walmart.com, Bestbuy.com, and Babiesrus.com by the end of October. The app is compatible with iPhones featuring iOS 8 and above, and Android smartphones 4.3 and above.
Since 2012, Netatmo has released 11 devices and accessories, including personal weather stations, smart thermostats, and connected security cameras. The company has raised $38 million, to date. Rivals include makers of air purifiers that also serve as air quality monitors, such as Coway’s Airmega, Uhoo, Molekule, and Sprimo.
