Netflix's Nexus 7 app is the first to stream 1080p video on Android

Netflix is the first video partner to begin offering high-definition video at 1080p resolution on the Android platform, Google announced at a press event today.

Google said its next-generation Nexus 7 tablet would be the first to support the new high-def Netflix movies, thus positioning the Google-branded tablet as a serious media consumption device.
