NES Remix is already getting a sequel.
During today’s Nintendo Direct broadcast, the publisher announced NES Remix 2. The first game, which takes classic 8-bit games and riffs on them as minigames, came as a surprise announcement in a December livestream.

Remix is a collection of minigames based on classic Nintendo titles. For instance, the game may ask a player to hop two barrels in Donkey Kong. NES Remix 2 also adds game mashup levels. In one portion of the video, Samus from Metroid crawled through a level of the original Super Mario Bros.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata also announced a new Super Luigi Bros. mode. In it, gamers run through levels of the original Super Mario Bros., but they play as Luigi and progress through the game’s once-familiar levels backward, scrolling right to left.
