Australian utility Energy Australia has inked a partnership with Cisco. Cisco will upgrade 200 of the utility’s substations so that it can better monitor faults and remotely restore power. The utility is currently rolling out a $100 million smart grid effort and previously announced a partnership with IBM, which will provide systems integration expertise.
