Original Apple-1 computer sells for $365,000 at auction

Forget iPhones, iPads, iMacs, iWatches, and any other modern contraption emanating from Cupertino’s vault of wonders — an original 1976 Apple-1 computer has just sold on auction at Christie’s for $365,000.

Besides the fact that it’s still fully operational, what’s perhaps most notable about the machine is that it’s the only known Apple-1 computer that is officially documented to have been personally sold by Jobs, according to Christie’s.

The Apple co founder sold this particular Apple-1 directly from his parents’ garage for $600 way back in the mid-’70s, reports the Guardian. It’s actually known as the “Ricketts Apple-1 Personal Computer,” after the person who bought it — Charles Ricketts.
