Over the watch and through the team kills, to Sombra’s house we go.

Overwatch’s Twitter account has teased a new in-game event, this time centered around the December holidays. The tweet includes an animated GIF of a Christmas card showing the King’s Row map decked out in snow and lights and shows a starting date of December 13. These in-game events add new, limited-time cosmetic content to the team-based shooter on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, which gives gamers extra incentive to keep playing. And for those doing some holiday shopping, it could give them a little extra push to give the gift of Overwatch.

Overwatch has been a huge hit for Blizzard since it launched in May, already reaching 20 million players. Adding new, free content like these events and new heroes (including the recent Sombra) shows jut how committed Blizzard is to keeping the game fresh.

Past events has focused on Halloween and the Olympics. They added new skins, animations, and sprays available from Loot Boxes, which players can earn by leveling up, playing Arcade Mode, or by just buying them with real money. Those previous events also introduced unique game modes. For the Olympics, we got the soccer-like Lucio Ball, while Halloween gave us the game’s first cooperative event, Junkenstein’s Revenge.

This could, however, be the game’s biggest seasonal event yet. The holidays are a popular time of the year, with lots of titles taking advantage with new content. We don’t know exactly what Overwatch is adding (outside of the Christmas overlay for King’s Row), but it should give players some jolly, holly experiences come December 13.
