Panasonic debuts Ora smart home system

LAS VEGAS — With the average home having over 100 endpoints that can connect to the Internet, the house of the future will need something to tie all those devices together.

Panasonic introduced today Ora, their smart-home integration system, that looks to bring together any device in the home, regardless of manufacturer or operating system.

Panasonic is teaming up with Xcel, energy provider for the midwestern and western United States, to run a pilot phase of Ora, which will play into the energy monitoring and efficiency elements of the system.

Panasonic is also working directly with Honeywell, a home security and energy device manufacturer, to also tie into the Ora system.
