Periscope web profiles have finally arrived.

In a blog post, the mobile livestream platform announced that every single user now has a dedicated desktop page.

“We think it’s really important for broadcasters to have a home on the web, and today’s launch is just the beginning,” the company explained.

The new profile certainly won’t knock you out aesthetically:

But it’s a step in the right direction. Periscope’s desktop experience used to be a nightmare with long, complicated URLs. After finally introducing landscape mode, the company seems to be listening.

However, Periscope is still enforcing its 24-hour expiration date on all videos. That means your profile will look desolate unless you are actively streaming and/or an incredibly prolific poster. Hopefully this 24-hour limit will be the next thing to change.

Periscope officially launched in March as a mobile-only streaming app for iOS and expanded to Android in May. In a few short months, the company has amassed 10 million users who stream more than forty years (350,000 hours!) of video every single day.

Forty years! With this new desktop profile, it’s now a little easier to make a small contribution to that insane (and growing) number.
