Plarium‘s Total Domination has been a smashing success on Facebook and the web with more than 30 million players worldwide. Now the company is taking the hardcore strategy game to mobile for the first time with the launch of Total Domination: Reborn for iOS devices.

The Tel Aviv, Israel-based company has become one of the fastest-growing developers of social games, with more than 12 million monthly active players for Total Domination since the game launched in 2011. Now Plarium has more than 300 employees and has seen its revenues double from a year ago.

While the company has grown successfully on Facebook, the imperative to move over to mobile is clear as companies such as Zynga are finding that players are rapidly making the transition.

Plarium was founded only three years ago. It took about a year to make Total Domination: Reborn.

“We have created something special at Plarium — the ability to take everything people love about our games on Facebook and social media and optimize it for mobile,” said Avi Shalel, Plarium’s chief executive officer, in a statement. “Plarium is committed to bringing rich and engaging original content as seen with Total Domination, and now hardcore gamers can get a deep, robust mobile experience like never before.”

In Total Domination: Reborn, players can strategically form alliances, develop colonies, and build empires. The new mobile version of the game is a stand-alone title completely independent from the online version. Reborn has similar gameplay to the web version but is designed for mobile with a user interface that works better on a smaller touch screen. It also has a high level of community management. The game mechanics and economy are unique to mobile. Reborn will be run as a live service with frequent feature releases and other updates.

Reborn has a real-time strategic interface, allowing players to build empires, discover lost knowledge from fallen civilizations, research new technologies, and wage war for the control of the world’s resources.

The game has 30 types of infantry, armor, artillery, and air force units. Players can battle on their own or fight in alliances and clans. They can earn extra resources by raiding other communities or trading with other players. Reborn has an story that teaches players how to work with or betray fellow commanders. Plarium will continuously update the game over time.

Plarium has more than 84 million registered users all together, and its games are on social networks including Facebook, Google+, Vkontakte, Odnoklassniki, and Mail.ru. Other games include Stormfall: Age of War, Pirates: Tides of Fortune, Farmandia Fantasy Land, Poker Shark, and Poker Shark Mobile.
