The PlayStation 4 has hit a big milestone thanks to the biggest shopping day of the year.

Sony announced today that its flagship console’s total sales have passed 50 million units after enjoying the best Black Friday in the brand’s history. This number includes the PlayStation 4 Pro, the 4K-enabled version of the console that came out on November 10. The original PS4 launched on November 15, 2013. Sony also noted that software sales across physical and digital are over 369.6 million copies sold.

We can’t compare sales to its biggest competitor, the Xbox One, since Microsoft has not released lifetime numbers for that console. However, the Xbox One has begun to outsell the PlayStation 4 monthly in the U.S., according to the NPD Group.

“We’re truly delighted that the PS4 community continues to flourish since launch three years ago,” said Andrew House, president and global chief executive officer of Sony Interactive Entertainment, in a press release posted on PR Newswire. “With tremendous support from our fans and partners across the globe, this year we were able to deliver an unprecedented lineup of hardware, including the new slimmer PS4, PS4 Pro, and PlayStation VR. We will continue to provide the best gaming experiences available through our ground-breaking software lineup and network services, as we focus on accelerating our business and expanding the PS4 ecosystem.”

The PS4 still has some work to do if it wants to be more successful than the brand’s best-selling system, the PlayStation 2. That console is the best-selling in history, having moved over 150 million units. However, the PS4 is getting closer to the PlayStation 3’s lifetime sales of 85 million units. It took that system more than 5 years to hit its 50 million mark.
