Gotta fight ’em all.
Nintendo announced today that the Pokémon fighting game Pokkén Tournament will come out for the Wii U on March 18. The game is only available in Japanese arcades right now.
This is a big year for the Pokémon franchise, as it marks the 20th anniversary of the release of the original games. Along with Pokkén Tournament, Nintendo is also bringing Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow to the 3DS eShop on February 27. It’s also a big year for fighting games, with Street Fighter V coming out to PlayStation 4 and PC on February 16.
The first production of Pokkén Tournament will come with an Amiibo card for Shadow Mewtwo. Using it on a Wii U will unlock that character in the game.
