Brands such as Sports Illustrated and USA Today have also moved into daily fantasy sports, which, like porn, is a hot traffic generator on the Internet.
Vivid claims that adult websites get more visitors each month than Netflix, Amazon and Twitter combined, with over 30 percent of the Internet’s bandwidth used for adult content.

“We are deeply excited about working with a synergistic partner like Vivid. As over 80 percent of fantasy sports players are males with a mean age of 34 years, the demographics show we are addressing the same audience,” MGT CEO Robert Ladd said in a statement. “The Vivid brand has been in existence for 30 years, and this partnership offers a dynamic opportunity for millions of Vivid fans to test their skill in the daily fantasy sports world.”
MGT Sports’ owner is MGT Capital, which acquired the company in April for $600,000 in cash plus stock. DraftDay.com was lagging in the competition with rivals FanDuel, DraftKings, and Draftstreet in the daily fantasy sports market. MGT also runs MGTplay.com, SlotChamp, FantasySportsLive.com, and Daily Fantasy Legend on Facebook.
“MGT Sports brings unequalled technical and operating know-how and we provide access and marketing experience to a loyal and enthusiastic fan base,” said Vivid Entertainment co-chair Bill Asher in a statement. “Through Vivid.com and our other websites we will offer easy one-click access and the ability to promote the site through Vivid Radio and Vivid TV, as well as through our other marketing platforms. Daily fantasy sports gaming is a huge and fast-growing segment and we are pleased to be affiliated with a company that is leading its growth.”
Vivid was founded in 1984 and it operates a number of adult-related businesses. It has made a number of moves into digital, including an app for Google TV back in 2011.
