RallyBound has acquired Chorus, adding the app development firm to its ranks to help the nonprofit-focused online marketing startup extend its reach. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Chorus’ team will be used to develop native iOS and Android apps for RallyBound’s SaaS-based fundraising platform.
Chorus was founded in 2010 by Nick Rongione as a way to facilitate peer-to-peer fundraising. The platform powers the mobile side of four of the top 15 of such fundraising events in the United States, including those put on by Susan B. Komen and the American Heart Association. Chorus’ technology enables organizers to manage their campaigns through their mobile device, including soliciting social media contacts for donations.
The two companies have previously worked together, but adding Chorus to RallyBound’s arsenal will see development of white-label iOS and Android apps so nonprofits can have their own branded mobile tools.
“With the Chorus acquisition, RallyBound will be the first enterprise-level SaaS provider for nonprofit fundraising that can offer individual fundraisers a way to manage their personal campaigns directly from their phones,” said RallyBound chief operating officer Joe Magee in a statement.
