Internet radio service Rdio is giving back to the record labels it licenses music from with its latest product roll-out.
Today, the company is giving 20 labels the opportunity to curate their own station and have it featured on Rdio’s site. Labels include Astralwerks, Merge Records, Def Jam, Domino Recording Company, MUTE, Sub Pop, and Warner Music Nashville. Rdio first teased its label stations during SXSW.
The new stations will be located under Rdio’s Browse tab in a section called “Label Spotlight,” a title that previously only existed on the company’s blog. Label Spotlight is where Rdio showcases various labels and their bodies of work.
This new feature seems to be specific to Rdio’s U.S. audience, though the company did recently push into 24 new territories.
