Fortune’s Adam Lashinsky has a good retrospective piece in Fortune on Netscape. Aug. 9 is the tenth anniversary of its IPO. Lashinksy interviews many of the main players, letting people like Jim Clark, Marc Andreessen and John Doerr recount the glory days in their own words.

It is a solid piece, even if it has created a little heat from some parts.

The piece rightly recalls here that Jim Clark’s other company, SGI, was a billion-dollar plus company when he moved to found Netscape. Meanwhile, here’s the latest data on SGI, which shows significant decline.
