Lavu, the Albuquerque-based developer of point-of-sale software for restaurants, announced today through a public filing that it raised $15 million in series A funding. The company said the round was led by Aldrich Capital Partners, and Aldrich partner Mirza Baig will join Lavu’s board.

The company teased the scoring round to ABQ Journal earlier this month. “We’ve been growing steadily without investment, and with investment we expect to grow fast and big right here in Albuquerque,” cofounder and CEO Andy Lim told the journal.

Lim said, “We will hopefully be able to grow to a half a billion company or a billion dollar company in the next 18 months. That’s our goal.”

Lavu’s celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay-endorsed system has been mentioned on Kitchen Nightmares on multiple occasions.
