Salesforce today announced that it has acquired data analytics company BeyondCore. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. The team will be working on Salesforce’s Analytics Cloud.
In a sense, BeyondCore overlaps with the Salesforce Analytics Cloud by virtue of its ability to chart data — even though the company emphasizes on its website that it extends beyond “typical visualization tools.”
Not very long ago, BeyondCore built an integration into Salesforce.
“At the Gartner BI Summit earlier this year we decided to show off our integration into Salesforce, which would be part of our upcoming BeyondCore 7 release,” BeyondCore chief executive Arijit Sengupta wrote in a blog post. “Business user after business user told us how wonderful it was that smart analytics was now embedded into an application they use every day. At this point, our two teams naturally started brainstorming what more we could do together.”

Zendesk recently bought another data analytics company, BIME Analytics, and Cloudability acquired one called DataHero. Now Salesforce is enhancing its business analytics capabilities as it challenges Microsoft, Oracle, and SAP, among others.
BeyondCore was founded in 2004 and has its headquarters in San Mateo, California. Investors include Menlo Ventures. In 2015, the company launched an integration with Microsoft Office.
Other recent Salesforce acquisitions include Coolan, Demandware, and Quip.
