Samsung’s Galaxy View is finally available through Verizon, which is great news if you’re in the market for a ridiculously big Android tablet.
First unveiled last October, the “tablet” sports an 18.4″ full HD screen, stereo speakers, and a two-way stand. The device is very much designed with videos in mind, as it has a home screen that highlights a number of video platforms, including Netflix, Hulu, Twitch, Crackle, and YouTube.

Although at 2.25 kg (almost 5 lbs), the Galaxy View is heavier than many modern laptops.
While the Galaxy View was already available through other carriers, such as AT&T, it’s notable that the tablet has landed at Verizon — the biggest carrier in the U.S.

Verizon pitches the Galaxy View as the “perfect mobile multimedia device for young professionals or college students looking to bring an entertainment center to their apartment or dorm room,” though many will no doubt question the “mobility” credentials here.
Verizon is selling the Galaxy View from today for $25 per month on a 24-month contract, which works out the same as the recommended retail price of $600. Verizon is also selling it for $500 upfront with every new two-year SIM activation. You should probably know that Amazon slashed $100 off its price last month, however, meaning you can already buy this unit for under $500 without any kind of data plan commitment.
If you think Samsung’s tablet is huge, Fuhu actually teased a range of truly massive Android tablets at CES last year, with sizes ranging from 20″ all the way up to an eye-watering 65″, and some of these are already available to buy.
