Samsung Galaxy Note 8-7

Only a few months after Samsung debuted its latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4, the company is gearing up to launch a new set of devices.

Samsung announced this morning that it will hold an event in London on June 20, where it will highlight new Galaxy (Android-based) and ATIV (Windows-based) gadgets. For those not local, it’ll be livestreamed at Samsung’s mobile YouTube page.

There’s a chance we could see a new Galaxy Note smartphone — the Note 2 was announced last August — and perhaps a refresh of the company’s Galaxy tablet line. Over the past few years, Samsung has been increasingly focused on its Note tablet lineup, but the company could potentially refresh its Galaxy Tab slates with a lower price to compete with other cheap Android tablets.

As for Ativ, Samsung’s brand for all of its Windows devices, we could potentially see Samsung explore new tablet and Ultrabook designs. Its Ativ smart PCs sport removable screens, so they can function as both tablets and notebooks. At this point, I’m excited to see what Samsung comes up with for the Windows 8 Ultrabook ecosystem.
