Samsung will unveil its much-hyped Galaxy S6 smartphone March 1 in Barcelona

I was happy and relieved to see the invite in my mail box just now. Samsung will finally debut its much-hyped Galaxy S6 smartphone March 1 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

Your faithful reporter will be there for the hoopla and, hopefully, a hands-on, along with my colleague Chris O’Brien.

Many see the Galaxy S6 as the spark that will reignite the South Korean phone maker’s dominance in the market, and perhaps steal the limelight away from Apple once again.

“We invite you to attend Samsung Galaxy Unpacked in Barcelona, which will be held on Sunday, March 1,” reads the invite.

The unveiling event will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 Barcelona time at Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona.

For the folks back home, there will be a live stream.

The latest leaks of the Galaxy S6 show a phone design that looks a lot like an iPhone 6. The usually reliable SamMobile website published a new shot of the device on Sunday.
