You can try to pretend selfies aren’t a thing, but not for long.
Today, Instagram announced you can now use your phone’s front camera to shoot videos with its Hyperlapse app. The company has released a new update for Hyperlapse that activates this feature.
In the Help section of Hyperlapse’s website, the company writes:
You can use your front-facing camera to shoot a video of yourself. Tap [the front-camera button] to switch the camera to front-facing (“selfielapse”) and if you change your mind, tap it again to return to regular Hyperlapse. Keep in mind that you can’t switch between selfielapse and Hyperlapse while recording a video.
Instagram released Hyperlapse, its app for making “ultra-smooth time-lapse videos,” in late August, and initially, the app enjoyed quite a bit of success.
