Site builder startup Squarespace launches blogging & notetaking apps on Android in beta

Squarespace, maker of an aesthetically-competent site builder, launched two new mobile apps in beta on Android today — Squarespace Blog and Squarespace Note. Previously, the apps were only available on iOS.

The new Blog and Note apps enable Android users to manage their sites on-the-go and jot down ideas, like their iOS counterparts. To try the new apps before the formal launch, follow these instructions.

Unfortunately, two of Squarespace’s other mobile apps, a portfolio app and an app for tracking site metrics, remain iOS-only.

A Squarespace spokesperson told VentureBeat by email that “a little over 10% of our customers use at least one of our iOS apps.” The company claims to have “hundreds of thousands of paying customers” overall, but would not disclose specific figures.
