SlideShark now lets you broadcast presentations live from your iPhone and iPad

As if SlideShark’s ability to accurately replay your PowerPoint presentations from the cloud on iOS devices wasn’t useful enough, the app can now let anyone watch along live as you present your slides.

The new SlideShark Broadcasting feature is launching today as part of the SlideShark 3.0 iPhone and iPad app. It’s the perfect way to keep all of your colleagues in the loop with a presentation, no matter if they’re sitting right beside you or remote.

It’s the logical next step for SlideShark, which has cemented itself as one of the simplest ways to pitch a presentation without dealing with a clunky laptop. Brainshark, the company behind SlideShark, launched an iPhone version of SlideShark last September.

The new broadcasting feature means you’ll have one less reason to deal with a more complicated solution like WebEx or GotoMeeting — which are typically a chore to configure for presenters.

Additionally, the SlideShark app now lets presenters annotate slides with a highlighter and pen tool (which are visible during broadcasts). You can also use SlideShark’s laser pointer feature when remoteyl controlling a presentation from your iPhone or iPod Touch.

You can invite people before, or in the middle of your presentations. They’ll receive a private link to your presentation, and you can also require a security code for an extra level of protection. SlideShark doesn’t offer a voice calling feature (it’s still entirely focused on slides), but you can plug-in a welcome message for attendees with a traditional conference call number.

BrainShark is also using the launch of the broadcasting feature to introduce a new SlideShark Pro account. The Pro account will include access to SlideShark Broadcasting, as well as an additional gigabyte of slide storage. Free users, and those with SlideShark Plus accounts (older premium accounts that offerred additional storage), can try out broadcasting with up to three attendees until May 31.

Waltham, MA-based Brainshark was founded in 1999 and last took funding in 2005.
