Snapchat now lets you have longer captions

Snapchat has released an update that gives you more characters for captions on your snaps. The company said that it has “more than doubled” the number of characters from the 33 you were limited to before.

The news was revealed in a tweet today, and the company even made sure to note that it wasn’t an April Fools’ Day joke. This will obviously be appealing to anyone who wants to describe what’s going on while also including emojis and other graphic representations in their snaps — those take up space too!

The company didn’t reveal the new character limit.

This comes just days after Snapchat released the next iteration of its chat feature, which supports video and audio calls, notes, and stickers. The company described these changes as being about “context and choice,” and having more room for captions will certainly help in this area.
