Sony isn’t messing around with virtual reality prototypes anymore. The Japanese company has renamed Project Morpheus as PlayStation VR.
Sony made the announcement for the virtual reality headset, previously dubbed Project Morpheus around the world, at its press event ahead of the Tokyo Game Show.

The hardware will be available to try on the show floor of the TGS, which draws tens of thousands of fans.
Sony’s PlayStation VR will compete with Valve-HTC’s Vive headset, Facebook’s Oculus Rift, and numerous other headsets coming from smaller companies.
