Sony once again piled the games industry into an aging stadium in Los Angeles to announce its upcoming lineup of games. We’re watching in person, and we’ve collected all of the news for you. Let’s get right to it.

Destiny

Halo developer Bungie is now good buddies with Sony, and the studio showed off its upcoming sci-fi shooter Destiny to kick off the PlayStation 4 presentation. In a new trailer, we got a look at the origins of the universe, which saw the end of planet Earth and the formation of a habitable Mercury. The video also showed some shooting action. While the game is coming to Xbox One and last-gen consoles as well, Sony has sown up exclusive content for its version.

The Destiny beta will hit PlayStation 4 on July 17. That’s before any other platform. A “first look” alpha is hitting PS4 this Thursday. You can get into it by going to Greatnessawaits.com/Destiny.

The game launches this fall.

Killzone: Shadow Fall — Interception

The trailer for this PS4 sci-fi shooter’s first expansion featured a fierce firefight, where a squad of four players worked together, utilizing their individual character class skills. This included the obligatory medic class healing a downed soldier and a Tactician providing his comrades with (awesome) jet packs!

White PlayStation 4

As part of its Destiny push, Sony also announced a white PS4 that will come with Bungie’s shooter. That bundle will go on sale Sept. 9.

The Order: 1886

We’ve seen this shooter a few times before, but this time Sony showed a moment that had some survival-horror elements. That includes the hero walking down a hallway, only to come across a werewolf. The player then needed to back-pedal down the hallway while the lycanthrope pursued. It was a horrifying moment for a game that had previously only looked like a cover shooter in the style of Gears of War.

The Order is due out in 2015.

Entwined

Sony announced that it launched a new game today for the PlayStation 4. Entwined is a colorful flying game that has you controlling an abstract dragon. While this is a newly announced title, Sony says it is up for sale now on the PlayStation Store for $10. People at the Sony event even whipped out their phones to purchase the game immediately through the PlayStation Network app.

Infamous: First Light

Sucker Punch only recently released Infamous: Second Son for PlayStation 4, but it’s now planning on releasing an expansion called First Light. While the game is downloadable content, you don’t actually need to own Second Son. This is a standalone game, but owning Second Son will get you bonus content.

First Light is due out soon.

LittleBigPlanet 3

Sony is bringing its game-building platformer to PlayStation 4. While Sackboy is back, this time his friends join him. This includes a dog, a bird, and a … potato sack thingy. They all have their own abilities. The dog can fit into smaller passageways. The idea is to have four players all working together to solve puzzles.

The platformer is due out this Chirstmas.

Bloodborne

Dark Souls developer From Software is back with its first game for new-gen consoles. Bloodborne is new action-adventure game that will have players taking on demons and beasts in a medieval-looking world. From Software didn’t show off any gameplay, but it did show a hero character trying to grab an artifact … only to have a giant beast crush him from behind.

It is due out in 2015.

Far Cry 4

We saw Far Cry 4 in action at Ubisoft’s press event, and now the publisher is showing off even more at Sony’s event. The game is a playground that gives players vehicles, weapons, and more to collect to help make the world theirs. A highlight of the gameplay demo was when a landslide forced the player’s truck off a cliff … to survive, he jumped out and used his wing suit to glide to safety.

Ubisoft also introduced the Guns For Hire mechanic, which enables multiple people to team up for tough missions.

On PlayStation 4, Far Cry 4 is getting a very interesting new feature: People who own the game for Sony’s system can invite their friends to join them … even if that person doesn’t own the game. That feature won’t work on Xbox One or PC.

Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition

Sony announced that famous monsters from The Last of Us — the Clickers, Stalkers, and Bloaters — are coming to the to the Ultimate Evil of Edition of developer Blizzard’s action role-playing game Diablo 3 for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. The Ultimate Evil Edition comes with the recent expansion, Reaper of Souls.

Magicka 2

Developer Paradox Interactive is bringing the sequel to its dungeon-crawling action-RPG to PS4 exclusively. The multiplayer game will hit the console later this year. It’s also the first time that the Nordic company, noted for its strategy games for PC, has published anything on a console.

Grim Fandango

Sony also revealed it is teaming up with Double Fine to remaster and re-release the developer’s classic adventure game about a dead detective. The game is coming to PlayStation 4 later this year.

Indies

In addition to the major games from Sony and other publishers, Sony revealed a lineup of indie games coming to PS4 that includes Not A Hero, Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, Titan Souls, Broforce, and The Talos Principle.

Let It Die

This is a new game from developer Suda 51 and Puzzle & Dragons developer GungHo Online Entertainment. Sony revealed a live-action trailer with lots of killing, weapons, and general violence, so we’re not sure what this one will look like. It’s also an interesting partnership, since GungHo is making millions of dollars from its mobile business and free-to-play games. We’ll see what it does on consoles.

Abzu

This new game from the developer of the acclaimed Journey will have players exploring the deep ocean and underground caverns. It features ethereal visuals, ambient music, and a general sense of zen. That makes sense, as Journey was known for the same things.

No Man’s Sky

Sony showed off an indie game with a scope that’s larger than almost any triple-A game. It is an open-world space-exploration game that procedurally generates endless worlds. Every player who starts the game will start on a different planet, and developer Hello Games says that will ensure every player will have a different experience. The game is coming to multiple platforms, but Sony is ensuring the developer has what it needs to launch on PS4.

No Man’s Sky does not have a release date.

Project Morpheus

Sony won’t just have traditional games at its booth this year. It revealed it will have four demos for its virtual-reality headset, Project Morpheus. The head-mounted display works in coordination with the PlayStation camera peripheral on the PS4.

Free-to-play games

Sony also revealed that it will bring a slate of new free-to-play games to its PS4 system. Games like Planetside 2, Loadout, and more will hit the console later this year. These will feature in-app purchases as a way to subsidize the free downloads.

PlayStation Now

Sony’s game-streaming service will launch as an open beta in the United States on PS4 starting July 31. It will start on PlayStation 3 and Vita soon after that. Sony also intends to launch PlayStation Now on select Sony TV sets. If you can get it, you just need a DualShock 3 to start subscribing.

The system will launch with over 100 games from Sony as well as its third-party partners. Those releases include Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus, Ultra Street Fighter IV, and more.

Sony hasn’t settled on a price yes, but it says it will experiment.

PlayStation TV

This is the North American and European version of Vita TV, which launched in Japan last year. It will go on sale soon for $100, but the company will also sell a version that comes with Dual Shock 3, an 8 GB  memory card for $140, and a voucher for The Lego Movie.

Mortal Kombat X

Developer NetherRealms announced its new fighter last week, but Sony got to show off the first gameplay of Mortal Kombat X in action. It was super violent and bloody, and I’m not sure if I should’ve eaten that chicken and waffles before seeing all of that.

Powers

Microsoft isn’t the only the game company that will have an original show on its console. Sony is adapting Brian Michael Bendis’s Powers comic book into an original show exclusively for PlayStation devices. It’s going into production soon, and we’ll see it starting in December.

PlayStation Plus subscribers will get to watch the series for free.

Ratchet & Clank: The Movie

Insomniac Games’ platform-action series is getting its own movie. To help market the film, Sony is also remastering the original Ratchet & Clank game for PS4 with upgraded visuals.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Sony also debuted a new trailer for Konami’s tactical-espionage game Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. It showed Snake doing some crazy stuff like rubbing blood on his face or something. I don’t even understand anymore. I saw some lens flare and someone getting drowned and an assassin in a thong.

Grand Theft Auto V

Developer Rockstar Games is finally liberating its massive open-world crime game GTA V from the clutches of last-gen systems. Sony announced the game is coming to PS4 this fall (as well as the Xbox One and the PC).

Sony also revealed that PS3 owners can transfer their GTA Online file from the last-gen system to PS4.

Batman: Arkham Knight

Sony also got to show off a new gameplay demo of the Dark Knight’s latest outing. We got to see the Batmobile in action as well as a wrestling-style promo from Scarecrow, who is Arkham Knight’s main villain.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Sony closed out the show with its ace card: the next game in the beloved Uncharted series from Naughty Dog. A new trailer revealed a new-gen Nathan Drake. He looked scruffy and handsome and roguish, but the publisher didn’t provide a release date. All we know is that the PS4 is getting some Uncharted, and it should look pretty good.
