Today Spotify debuted “Top Tracks in Your Network,” a top charts-inspired playlist designed to show you the songs your friends listen to most.
Born out of a company hackathon, Spotify tells us that its new playlist was created to offer users a more passive way to get song recommendations from the people they trust. “The more popular a song is with your friends,” Spotify tells us, “the higher it is up the chart.”
