Square launches payroll service for small businesses

Today, payments startup Square is launching its latest small business offering: payroll services.

For $20 a month plus an additional $5 per employee, Square Payroll will handle employee payment and all the accompanying taxes. This service is just the latest addition to a growing list of small business services, including scheduling, inventory management, and invoicing, that the company has been amassing to grow beyond credit card processing.

Square was reportedly testing out a payroll service last year, so today’s announcement was somewhat expected.
