OK, this sounds a bit more exciting for Star Wars fans, even if one addition has us a little perplexed.

EA has released details for its next Star Wars: Battlefront expansion, the second of five planned as part of its season pass. Titled Bespin, the new content includes four maps based around Cloud City, the floating locale from The Empire Strikes Back. It releases in June and adds Lando Calrissian for the Rebels and the bounty hunter Dengar for the Imperials as new hero characters. Battlefront has performed well for publisher Electronic Arts, selling over 13 million copies to retailers as of January. Expansions and new content help keep players active, which make them more likely to keep playing and spend money on future downloadables.

Adding Lando as a new hero is a no-brainer, since he’s one of the more iconic characters in the original trilogy outside of the core group (Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, and the droids). Dengar is a more obscure pick. He only appears in one scene in one movie (again, The Empire Strikes Back). In fact, that part includes a bunch of other, cooler bounty hunters, like the droid IG-88 or the reptilian Bosk. Dengar is most notable for looking like he wrapped his head in toilet paper. Fans already criticized developer Dice for lazy hero picks (Nien Nub and Greedo) in the last expansion, Outer Rim, which were basically just slightly different models for skins that already existed in the game. Dengar might have made the cut this time since his armor isn’t all that different from a Stormtrooper’s.

The setting new maps in Cloud City should please Star Wars fans. It’s one of the most famous locations from the original movies, and Dice promises that the new levels will feature AT-ATs walkers, ship battles, and familiar locations like the carbon-freezing chamber.
