DEMO: Sutus lets small businesses set up IT infrastructure in just a few minutes

Sutus is one of 65 companies chosen by VentureBeat to launch at the DEMO Spring 2010 event taking place this week. These companies do pay a fee to present, but our coverage of them remains objective.

A company called Sutus wants to deliver most of the technology a small business needs to run in a single product called Business Central. The company announced its latest version, Business Central 5880, today on-stage at DEMO, and also showed off how easy it is to set up.

Business Central is a single device that includes phone service, file sharing, wireless internet, a security firewall, an email server, and more. Sutus executives brought a Business Central reseller onstage to compete with a supposed reseller of traditional IT.

Setting up servers and routers usually takes a lot more time than can be achieved in a six-minute DEMO presentation, but Sutus’ system was up-and-running in a few minutes, and the presenters had time to spare to show off other features.

Sutus said it has raised less than $5 million and is raising a third round of funding.
