Lawn care service startup LawnStarter has raised a $1 million round of seed funding to help expand into new markets and overall growth, the company announced today.

We first reported on LawnStarter last year after it graduated from the Techstars Austin accelerator program. The startup offers a platform that makes it easier for lawn care professionals to manage most aspects of their business from a smartphone or connected tablet. LawnStarter is good for these businesses because it means it can track or accept payments upon completion of a service, meaning fewer resources are wasted trying to run down clients to pay their bill. LawnStarter also makes it easy for customers to book appointments and see all the services available from a particular lawn care company.

The startup, which makes money on every transaction made through its customer platform, is available to lawn care pros in a handful of markets right now, including Virginia; Austin, Texas; and Orlando, Florida. Cofounder Steven Corcoran told VentureBeat the startup plans to use the new investment to expand into new markets as well as add new clients to its platform within existing markets.

The funding round itself comes from a handful of investors, including Gary Vaynerchuk (via Vayner RSE), Rob Taylor, Cotter Cunningham, Rony Kahan, and others. Founded in 2013, the Austin, Texas-based startup has raised $1.5 million to date.
